What is coaching?

Coaching can be defined as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, often unlocking previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

Coaching is about giving a person the time and space in which to think, to articulate their thoughts, and a safe place where they are not worried about what anyone else thinks, or the consequences of what they say.

If you’ve ever been asked for advice and found that advice totally ignored, or the person seeking advice from multiple sources, and still taking no action, you’ll recognise that however good your advice might be, it’s not necessarily right for the recipient in either its content or timing, or both.

The coaching relationship begins with mutual trust and respect for the individual, their values and needs, all of which ultimately enable the Client’s decisions and actions.

In short, the Coach is a facilitator enabling the Client’s self-empowerment.

Who benefits from coaching?

  • Business Owners

  • Executives

  • Aspiring/Emerging Leaders

  • Individuals wanting to unlock their potential

  • Individuals going through a challenging period

Whether it’s a problem with a business or personal relationship, or a desire to change something in your professional or personal life, or simply a need for space to gain clarity of thought, a Coach can help provide the right environment for developmental thinking leading to lightbulb moments!

Coaching gives you a safe environment in which to explore the possibilities to enable you to realise your true potential.

Everyone needs a little help sometimes.

That’s why you’ll find most Coaches have their own Coach…

What is mentoring?

There are several different definitions for coaching, mentoring, advising and consulting in use by different organisations. Here are mine:

I use the terms mentoring and advising when I am helping a Client by drawing from my own experiences.

I use the term consulting when offering a Client expert assistance in a specific situation, whether it’s on a product, service, or skillset.
